Respected by music lovers and DJs worldwide, French native Nicolaus “The Reflex” Laugier has become renowned for his revision of classic tracks that keep them alive for the current era to enjoy.

By taking remixing and audio editing to new heights, The Reflex has captured the world’s attention and built an impressive army of fans along the way. One look at his YouTube or SoundCloud profile will tell you why in less than a second as he’s amassed a discography of ‘The Reflex Revision’ and ‘Mastertapes’ mixes that are simply sublime. Notable tracks that have been given a fresh version by The Reflex include everything from Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and Earth, Wind, and Fire’s ‘September’ to the Bee Gees’ ‘Staying Alive’ and Queen’s ‘I Want To Break Free’.

These takes on classic tunes by The Reflex aren’t just simply remixes but are entire reworks that bring them up to speed for the current era of the scene to feast their ears on. Thus, gaining him the trust and support of the original artists he has remixed, like music legends Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Kid Creole, Kathy Sledge, Bootsy Collins, Jackie Jackson and A-list rock stars Noel Gallagher, Bono and Paul Weller.

“I LIKE THE CHALLENGE OF TAKING, LET’S SAY, A 24 TRACK RECORDING FROM THE LATE 70’S AND REPROCESS IT INTO A BRAND NEW VERSION THAT WORKS ON TODAY’S DANCE FLOORS USING THE EXACT SAME SOUNDS”

As a DJ, The Reflex sets are a proper energy-packed workout, full of unreleased material (his own and from his trusted network), often playing the big disco tunes well ahead of everyone else. With 20+ years in the game, through an impressive mix of disco, cosmic, funk, boogie house, and rarities, The Reflex brings on the grooves in their many forms with an ability to adapt to crowds and places through his wealth of knowledge and experience.

More than an edit, it’s The Reflex Revision: a Moto that describes accurately the expert craftsmanship involved in turning stems into brand new, fresh sounding versions.

An era-spanning fixture of New York radio, Chris “DJ Spinbad” Sullivan was revered by fans and peers alike. Icons such as DJ Jazzy Jeff and the late DJ AM have called the NYC native their “favorite DJ”; most likely due to his masterful technical skill, party-rocking ability, and musical versatility.

“I LIKE TO INCORPORATE TURNTABLISM AND PARTY ROCKING TOGETHER. A LOT OF PEOPLE PLAY CLUBS AND DON’T REALLY DO ANYTHING WITH THE RECORDS; I TRY TO KEEP EVERYTHING DANCEABLE BUT AT THE SAME TIME INCORPORATE THE REAL DJ SKILLS”

In 1995, he cemented his reputation with his infamous ’80s mixtape, Rock The Casbah, now certified as the most-bootlegged release of all time by download/file-sharing services. Five years later, Spinbad dropped its sequel, Eye of the Tiger (’80s Megamix, Vol. 2). He also mixed the 2001 collection, Underground Airplay (Version 1.0), and in 2004, a rare hip-hop entry into the Fabric Live series (FabricLive.14).

Spinbad continued to work as a globe-trotting, party-starting live DJ, performing in clubs and stages in more than 50 countries, DJ Spinbad has seen and done things few DJs can imagine. To include his popular residency as the first and only international resident DJ for Cé La Vi (formerly Kü De Ta) in Singapore and Hong Kong.
